Advice on my Totaled RX-7
My 1987 RX-7 was gutted after the robbers couldn't successfuly hotwire it to steal the whole thing.
My insurance company is totaling it.
I don't know if I should pay the salvage fee and keep it to part it out or sell as is to someone who has the patience and time to save this rotary engine, or not. I truly feel like I'm turning it over to a glue factory (if it were a horse)
I can't repair it on my own. I don't know how to do the repairs, plus I need to buy a replacement vehicle for my teenager. Thereis not a rotary mechanic in my town, although the engine is good. (they tore up wiring, etc)
Any suggestions? I value your opinion.

Second, Whats the salvage fee?
If N/a The car in it's current state is worth about 500 to someone looking for a track car. Parting it out may net you up to 1000 if it has the more desireable GXL features.
Turbo, it's worth alot more. Check through the forsale section to see some examples of prices that turbo parts are going for.

It is not turbo, to my knowledge. Salvage fee is $200. Do people sell for the salvage fee, or a little higher?
Honestly, I don't know what to do... I can't keep it at the body shop forever and need to make a firm decision. I put this off during holidays and business travel, but need to get myself on the ball.

people will jump on anything with a $500 price tag but it seems there is a bit of a wall at $1000 for anything n/a these days.

Well, I guess I have a totaled RX-7 for sale, $500 or best offer.
The engine worked before they tried to hotwire it. Stole the AM/FM, CD player, back speakers, etc. I'll take pictures..
Any other advice?
