Advice on getting rid of the rest of my power steering

Ok, the PS pump's out, I took a look under the car, and even after taking off the front plastic, and rear metal panels, there doesn't seem to be any easy way to loop and cap the remaining bits and pieces. So, is there anyway to get in there without dropping a bunch of stuff? I'll also have to take off the cooling line, and haven't looked at that yet, but I imagine it's not that hard.

I also took off the AC compressor and drier, and I'm in the middle of taking off the rest of the hoses and junk, any advice on that would be helpful too.

Thanks,

Just do the full manual conversion. My car never had power steering, and I love it, you feel more in touch with the road (just gets kinda hard parking sometimes)

Let me know about the A/C job, I'm interested in removing mine too.

A small rant

Not to pick on HeavyFoot,

but why are you telling me to do a conversion that you haven't done yourself? Do you have any idea how much work is involved? have you compared the non-powered-steering rack to the manual rack?

Not that this particular comment bothers me, but before I started to remove my power steering, I searched the forum, read lots of posts, and now that I've actually started it looks like most of the people who were posting had no idea what they were doing, they were just repeating what they had heard, or they're own wild theories.

I read quite a few "write ups" that went something like this:

1> remove PS pump

2> Remove lines leading to pump

3> loop to lines on the rack, cap the rest.

ok, a trained monkey with a hayes manual could figure that much out, but if you're going to reply to my or one of the many other posts asking for advice, please be a bit more specific, like telling me all the junk I'm going to have to take off to get to the lines I need to loop. Or at the very least include a disclaimer to the effect of "if you're car is put together the way my imaginary RX-7 is put together, just follow these three easy steps..."

If this is a S5 NA Power Steering removal

I'm in need of a part that is now simply taking up room in your garage.

The Pressure Sensor off the Power Steering Pump itself.

PM me if it is indeed available.
