adjusting vert top? 89vert
ok I know and can learn to live with the fact that a vert is gonna leak. its just the design of the stuff. so im looking at my 89 vert the other day after a good rain storm and just happen to see that with the windows up all the way and the top closed and it looks lined up with the windshield edges.... the pass side window rubber seal at the top of the glass(on the targa section of the roof) is nice and sealing with a 1/8 to 1/4 inch of the seal protruding from the top of the glass. This look like it should be ok then i saw the drivers side and its BARELY flushed at the top of the glass and the top rubber seal. Its almost like the roof isnt aligned right. if it were they would be about the same on each side. and i have found that i have to latch the drivers side roof lock 1st so the pass side will grab.
Does anybody know if you can adjust the roof alignment? if so how?

Well the part about latching the drivers side first to latch the passenger side. It seems as if the passenger side latch is overtightened. If you look at the latches there is a nut on there, you loosen it up with i think an 11mm wrench. You want both to apply even pressure on the top, so it will take a bit of playing around with the top. What i did was to loosen the nut, then screw the "hanger" section all the way in on both sides until it stops, then as you retract (screw it out) the hanger to "loosen" the latch, count the number of turns so that way you can have both latches tighten down evenly.
You don't want to have it overtightened either as you can prematurely flatten the seal on the windshield area. You can also tell how tight you have the latches by feeling the "tightness" of the top from the rear window area from the outside, and by the amount of force required to close the latch down.
Basically what I found works best for feel on the latches is that you want it so you don't have to apply "force" to close the latches, it should be really smooth to close them, then make sure you don't have a big gap on the front seal and top on the windsheild area, then look at the gap between the targa side seal on the front, and the door seal "lip". You want the targa top seal to overlap a bit with the door seal lip so the water drips into the door seal from the targa top.
As far as the window not contacting the targa top side seal, do what rotaryrocket88 suggested and adjust the window itself....
It might take a few rainy days to really get it dialed in, my vert currently has zero leaks on a rainy day. But still I wouldn't dare take it in the automated carwash again (a lesson learned the hard way).....
Hope this helps you out, I know I had the same question when I first got my vert but figured it out myself...
