Adjusting Apex BOV
I have installed a twin chamber Apex BOV on my TMIC. In the manual it says that you should adjust the spring so that when the car is idling no vac is leaking through the BOV. If I adjust the screw all the way out (no pressure) the vac still does not leak. Just wondering if this is common. I took the car for a drive (spring setting at halfway) and the BOV does Blow off. Any setup ideas?
Thanks

Contact Apexi and ask them if they A: have heard of this and B: sell a weaker spring to counteract this.
P.S. your vacuum should be about or slightly under -500mm Hg at idle... you don't have any vac leaks do you?

I have the same problem. I unscrewed the spring so much that it came out.
I just backed it back in a little and left it as that.
The car runs perfectly fine and I have never had compressor surge.
I've been using it for 2 years.
Maybe you set the vac lines wrong.
The nipples on the side shoudl be connected together to make a "C"
The nipple at the end of the BOV shoudl be connected to the Vac source on the ACV or near the BAC/UIM
How much boost are you making when you test it?
My car would produce just enough pressure differential to blow off in neutral during high revs.
My cars vacuum sucks too. I avg 10hg at a 1k idle.

OK,
I have it all connected up propperly. The vac line on the BOV is connected to the location near the BAC where the stock BOV vac line used to connect at. I also have the one line on the BOV connected in a "C" configuration as in the instructions.
I checked my vac at idle this morning and I had a reading of 17.5-20 in Hg (approx 445 - 508 mm Hg). So it seems that my vac is strong enough. I then backed the BOV adjustment screw out a lot and reved the car a bit in neutral. I can now hear the blow off by only reving to about 2500 rpm (it may be blowing off at lower rpms but it is hard to hear while sitting in the car) so I think it must be working fine, your thoughts?
Thanks for the help!
Jeff
