Alright So I have a 91 N/A with a RB N/A downpipe, presilencer, and a corksport catback. As most of you know its pretty f*%kin loud. So found some threads about the XR-1 muffler to quiet up the exhaust and give it a nice tone.

Now I was wondering which XR-1 Oval to buy? 2.5 inch InOut BodyLength: 12 or BodyLength: 16 ?

And also Which would work better. Buying the pre-slilencer flanges from RB and bring them to the muffler shop for them to flange it. Or just having the muffler shop weld it into the cat-back pipe and leave my current presilencer.

 

If you get the oval, you should be able to position it somewhere along the catback and orient it in a way that it won't drag or scrape. I'd go with the 12" towards the back of the catback.

I'm going to roll with a Borla but i'm replacing my RB presilencer with it...

 

Would that reduce the noise as much as it would if it was at where the pre-silencer is?

Oh yeah, I picked up the trans today.

Being as the borla is going on my TII, it'll be quieter.

How are them sideskirts workin out for ya?

 

I meant if I put it on my catback instead of replacing presilencer. would it quiet down my exhaust just as good.

Little bit of drilling and elbow grease they came out okay. One side is kinda ehh because of the S4 fender but its not bad.
