Add Coolant Warning!! Help!!!!

Ok on my way to 95r2 89TII ground zero's house my warning light went on and when i slowed down it went off. So i got there and checked it out and the resivior was over the full line and full of brown nasty ****! So we drained it and put some new coolant into the radiator and it ran for awhile and didnt go anything so i was like cool. we went to leave and that damn light came on like 2 miles from his house. we turned back and let it sit for the night, when i went to leave like 5 hrs later i didnt get out of the driveway before it went off. So i need everyones help, what is the damn deal with my car? We think that it is the radiator gone bad. please help!!!!!!!

That brown stuff sounds like rust. And as for the light going off, you're losing coolant more likely than not somewhere ont he car. Look at the floor under your car and see if you hae a leak anywhere. Replace that hose. Um... and I'd probably get a new radiator, but if you do, go to the aluminum perforamnce one. They're cheaper than the stock, and they don't have the annoying plastic piece on the top that always break when removing the radiator. *pos... lol ^_- Alrighty, hopefully your situation gets better!

Peace,
AJ ^_^

that's normal for the light to come on after you refill the rad. the air bubles are just comming out. let it sit while warm with the heat on full blast and the rad cap off and it will lower a bit. just keep adding. I did mine a month ago leting it sit for a long time at idle filling it up every now and then as it droped, and still had to add more later durring the day after driving for 15 mins or so.

although if it came on the first time you might have a small leak.

Um... there's a air bleeder screw on the end of the radiator up top near the cap. Remember to unscrew that before you pour in the coolant. That should solve the air bubble situation. ^_- Good luck!

Peace,
AJ ^_^

I hate to say this but take your car to a shop with a smog machine and see if they will do a quick scope for exhaust gas in your coolant (let them sniff the overflow bottle or take the rad cap off BE CARFULL IF IT IS HOT NOT TO BURN YOUR SELF). If you do have exhaust gas in the coolant then your intermediate seal might be blown near the exhaust port. Most shops will check for free and it only take a couple of mins
