Adapt OMP to carb questions

I am goin with a Holley carb set up and my 87 GXL and wanted to know how i would route the OMP lines to the carb so i dont have to run premix.. i seen a 1st gen with a Holley set-up and the gur just lock the OMP bar all the way open and put the line in the carb runners right aboe the butter flies and said that the vac from the carb would pull the oil through the lines.. is the true? if not how would i rought the lines to work with the carb?? thanks Dave

Premix would be better. Burning oil leaves a lot of carbon in the engine. It wasn't the best design Mazda ever came up with. The OMP was designed to use 1 gallon of oil for every 100 gallons of gas. If you wire the OMP all the way open, it will use oil faster, and that oil is coming out of the same, used oil that is circulating through the block. Here is a site that has an adapter that you can use to make your OMP inject premix instead of oil.

I agree with DJChunter. There should be linkage to the omp. Never just tie it open thats stupid. Just get a small dia. bar and bend it. And any aftermarket manifold that you get should have small bosses in it for omp oil lines. So there should be no guess work involved.
