ACV Testing help? How to test port air solenoid?

Hey guys I have been searching how to test the port air solenoid could someone point me to the right direction
I want to make sure the proper signal is being sent to the solenoid that way i know if the solenoid is no good
smog test coming up soon

From: tulsa,ok.
The port air solenoid works for the first 20,000 miles of each 100,000 miles otherwise it doesn't work. So, it depends on how much mileage you have. If it's between 100 k and 120 k then it will have less than 2 volts on the Black/Red wire w/key to on otherwise it would read 12 volts.

Most important solenoid is the switching solenoid. It controls whether air pump air flows to the exhaust manifold or to the cat.
