Acv switching valve

Anyone have any tips to lock the valve open? The diaphragm is cracked and leaks air. I've been trying to get the car smogged and already failed 3 times. I wonder why mazda didn't have the valve fail open instead since port air is essential for emissions.

you unscrew the valve, and put a nut in there, put it back together, and make sure the air goes in the direction you want, done
