ACT Exedy or Spec clutches

Lots of searches, lots of reading, lots of comparing specs. I've learned a lot.

Now I have some questions. Which clutch kit would be best for me?

The car is an '83 1st gen. The tranny is also a 1st gen (with the big tooth gears found in '81-'83), and easily holds over 200HP if you don't abuse it. The light weight of the car helps tranny life too.

The engine, as some of you may already know, is an NA 20B. It just needs a rebuild and a port job. It may get a turbo later or not depending on which shaft it has (early shaft = better to stay NA, later shaft is stronger). If I ever go turbo, I'll install a T2 tranny. Gonna stick with the adequately strong 1st gen tranny for now. That means I'm limited to 225mm.

It seems the three choices in my price range are ACT, Exedy and Spec.

I like what I've read about Spec clutches. ACT is far more popular, but I'm limited to a full faced stock (exedy?) disc or a 4 or 6 puck with ACT. I suppose I could get an ACT pressure plate and some other disc, but I'd prefer a package. I'd have probably gone with Daikin (exedy) if I didn't expect the power levels to be so far above stock levels. Therefore here I am researching clutches. Please toss any info my way. Thanks!

I just got an ACT kit and it came with an Exedy disc...

Then again, ACT stopped using Exedy and started making their own discs about a year or so ago...

Have they worked out all the bugs yet?

The expected torque after a port job would probably be maybe a maximum of 250 lbs-ft. That's just a guess of course. I'd say the HP would be anywhere from 250 to possibly 300. I'm not after HP. What I want is a daily driver that has a little something. That means excellent driveability but with a clutch good enough to handle hard launches. It will not be tracked although some mild drag racing and possibly some *cough drifting cough*. Hey, I gotta try it at least once to see what all the fuss is about, right? Actually I'd really like to try gymkhana. It looks interesting.

So what do you think? I guess I need a friendly clutch that can handle abuse but not kill my leg. Puck clutches are definitely out.
