ACT clutch problem. Cant get slave cyl on

just installed an act 6 puck and heavy duty pressure plate along with a rebuilt transmission.

i cant get the slave cyl on unless i use a pry bar .
it seems like the pressure plate is too thick. after forcing the slave on and bleeding it, there is no free play in the clutch pedal?

anyone ran into this? any ideas ?

No, mine went in smoothly. You positive everything is sitting right on the inside?

yeah things went like a normal clutch job. i think the only real unknown variable is the rebuilt transmission. i wonder if it could have the wrong fork on it?

I've been pondering on this. Is it possible the fork is bent maybe? Its the only thing I can figure that would cause this since everything else is sitting correctly.

the only think i can think of is a wrong or oddly bent fork. maybe the wrong throw out bearing? clutch pressure plate wrong?

what about an N/A bell housing?

i may grind the slave rod down and call it a day

You have a TII with the TII drivetrain right?

Are you sure you are not using a NA slave on a TII transmission?
The shafts are not the same length.

Only problem with my fork theory is that normally they bend the other way. I'm out of ideas.

so...with the slave rod fully depressed there isn't enough room to bolt it down? i know the N/A and T2 slaves are different lengths.

if all the parts are right, then the fork isn't sitting on the pivot ball like it should...it may have gotten jostled while the transmission was going on.

clutch free play can be adjusted via the linkage on the master cylinder. if the clutch works fine...then leave it alone.

my car is a turbo and its old trans was a turbo and im pretty sure my new trans is a turbo.

i have never had an N/A so i dont know what and N/A trans looks like.

i did buy the transmission used off of craigs list then sent it to the tranny shop to get rebuilt.

it looks identical to me.

but who knows
