accessory wiring questions

I am going to wire up a few accessories and i was wondering if you all could give me some advice on what i should do. first of all, i am not sure if i should run an individual in-line fuse for each accessory, or if it would be better to run all 7 things to a fuse box ( like the 5 or 6 open spots in the stock fuse box). here is the list of things i am wiring up:

a/f gauge, boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, oil temp gauge, coolant temp gauge, radio, and radar detector.

also, is there a way i can calculate what size fuse to use per application??

if you have any other tips, i would greatly appreciate it.

oh and on the gauges, would it be better to individually fuse them, or collectively bunch them together and fuse them as a whole?

The fuse protects the wiring, not the accessory device.

So you rate the fuse based on the size and length of the wiring. Not on what is at the end of the wiring.

So, in the case of what you are wiring, I would use a singe fuse for power for the gauges, and then dedicated separate fuses for the power leads for the Radio and the Detector.

If the run is less than 10ft, add everything on the circuit together and that is your fuse rating (for example, if each gauge uses .5 amps, and you have all of them on the same circuit, then use a 3 amp fuse).
