Accelerated Warm up is a No...
Well,
Everything is well on the 86 NA that we have brought back from dead except on start up.
I know the accelerated warm up is bad but it not working means something is wrong as well. In the morns it starts up just fine...goes to about 1500-2000 then after about 10 seconds if that it goes down to under 1000 then sputters lower and dies.
It will start right back up and after one or two start ups it will run just fine from that point on and once warm it will start and run no problem.
Any ideas on what to check?
Mike

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Has the throttle body mod been performed???
Your throttle body has a missing or bad thermowax valve.
which has absolutly nothing to do with the accelerated warm up. It is the cold idle circuit.

The thermowax is there but could possibly be bad. Is that a part you just replace and hope it fixes it or is there a way to test it.
I could care less if the accelerated warm up works just need it to stay running upon a cold start.

Actually no. If you start it and hold the pedel down alittle just for a bit then it will drop in idle and run fine after letting off the gas.
The problem only occurs if your starting it for the first time during the day and don't hit the gas at all.
