ac removal Question

ac removal Question

so far i've gotten everything out of the engine bay..I was just wondering what all can be removed from under the dash? can basicalyl everythign go..including the heater core....or does that need to stay?

Well..are you keeping heater? If not..yeah, you can remove.......everything. Not to mention a TON of coolant lines in the engine bay.

I'm not sure if you need the heater core, but it doesn't really weigh that much and its a huge help when its cold. It doesn't matter where you live, there will be times you wished you had a heater. Trust me, I live in Texas and there were times I cursed my clogged heater core. Plus its just plain dangerous because you can't de-fog the windows.

the inability to defog the windows was what i was worried about.....I wa smostly interested inremoving it all so I coudl seal up the firewall better....since I cant find the massive leak I have.

Explain. What kind of leak? There souldn't be anything that smells in the engine bay to even come through the firewall.

basically after we had tons of rain for a few days I found a puddle of water under the driver side seat..I was thinking it came in from a hoel in the firewall where a AC line comes in....then looking under the dash I found that there was duct tape holding together a line that goes into a largeish black box that has another drain hose that goes back out the firewall (not sure what the box is)...so I was thinking it may have came in there
