Mr. gadget to save you some time just get a 134a retro kit the complete one . it has it all. It has great o-rings and ester oil. All parts houses have them. Those o-rings are compatible. Especially if you use DURACOOL!

Right, I know about the 134 being bad to mix. I checked into it, and my system is fine. I hooked up the gauges and was getting 42 psi on the low side. I guess it's a little harder to cool a hot car that has a black interior.

Hey can you use a tire gauge to check presure on a/c system? looks like the same type of valve...also what type of a/c did mazda put in the 88 gxl?

Remember the scene at the end of Demolition Man where WSnipes was frozen and fell apart. Just imagine your fingers in the same condition if you fry it with a tire guage. And no, it wont work
