ac door

quick question..my mechanic says that I'm full of freon but the ac door won't open so it won't blow out cold air. The ac light on the dash won't light up unless I push the button (that uses internal air) next to it hard. Could it be a simple fuse or wiring?

There is no such thing as a AC door. You need a logicon (or rebuild yours) and a new mechanic.

Forgive my ignorance. I meant to say logicon but i had no idea what it was. Should have said unit that controls the air temp instead of ac door. So if I install a logicon it should solve my problem? It did blow out cold air once and the light above the ac button doesn't come on.

sometimes the lights get cold solder joints and no longer light up.

Without testing it is hard to say for sure, but it does sound like your logicon is the problem.

I have rebuilt Logicons on my website if you want to try replacement, but your best bet is to double check things like the freon in the system (there needs to be freon in the system or the ECU won't turn the compressor on), and of course the compressor condition.
