AC Compressor Clutch Pblm
Hi Gang,
First, I've been searching and reading all afternoon and found lots of answers. But, this last item is not to be found.
Base problem is AC not working. I have fixed and tested concluding with the following conditions:
Refrigerant level is good - checked pressure and jumper across the pressure switch does not make compressor clutch engage
Compressor is good - can connect clutch directly to 12v and it engages with cold air blowing
Logicon is good - turn on AC button, light comes on and electric fans come on
Relay is good - with Logicon AC button on, I can hear it click when I unplug/plug it
What is not good, is that there is no 12v on pin 3 of the AC relay, which feeds the compressor clutch.
I've read that the cigar fuse is on the same circuit, but I can't find a bad fuse. The cigar socket is dead (won't run my radar detector), so it would follow that the AC clutch wouldn't have power.
Final problem is, I can't find where the 12v blockage is now. Would a guru here have suggestions of where else to look?
Thanks,000,000

Update: I found the Cigar fuse was described as bottom row second from left. FSM says it's 10A. Found fuse fitting that description and it is good - took it out and put meter to it. Also, the clock is dark which I read is also related. Closing in....would still appreciate input from someone who could help me find the source of the problem faster.

A/C Clutch
Clock
Cigar Lighter
Side Mirrors
Next is to pull and test every fuse. Can't seem to identify a "cigar" fuse.

Have you referenced the FSM for your year RX7? The FSM will show where the various connection points are located. If you search the sticky's, you'll find links to online FSM's.
My bet is you have a connector near the fuse box that has either been knocked loose or connection points are corroded. I've seen where the corrosion had literally eaten through the wire.
