Clutches are reasonably easy to replace, but chances are the compressor itself is locked up. I wouldn't rebuild the compressor myself tho...the front seals can leak if they're not installed just exactly perfectly right.

JM1FD is most likely 100 percent correct. But........if you search the web, and have a Sanden compressor, the Sanden company's site has a rebuild manual for the compressor. Also the 89 manual at http://www.fc3s.org/
has a 89 manual with a section on the air conditioning and there is some good information on rebuilding the air compressor. I've probably done you a disservice by telling you this. Deep down I know JM1FD is right. I did rebuild the one in my 87 n/a and got the parts from carparts.com. My compressor was nowhere near locked up though. Just a conversion to R134 and I needed the metal gaskets.
EDIT: This site: http://www.sanden.com/support/index.html
Do yourself a favor and listen to JM1FD.
