abs warning light, hard pedal
so my abs light comes on at random times and goes off at equally random times. sometimes it comes on when i start the car, other times it comes on while braking.
I have noticed a hard brake pedal for a long while now, and i hear the release of pressure from the master slave cylinder just after startup. i have also experienced wheel hop and brake hop, not the abs. I was thinking of rebuilding the pistons and putting in new brake lines along with rotors and pads, but i don't want to spend all that money if it is something small.
does anyone have any suggestions, or other things to look for.
oh...about 2 weeks ago my brake fluid was almost empty, never had a problem before or since. I think this is when the abs light came on first.

Watch out, I had problems w/ "dissapearing" brake fluid. A week later the brakes went out going down hill; almost killed my poor 7. It ended up being a bad master cylinder but I'd check the lines very thoroughly first (since they're cheaper)
my 7 is doing the same thing. Found out it was leaky master cylinder. Havent got the chance to put it back together yet but Im 99% sure that was my problem. Definately check all your lines, its tedius but hey it's a 7, also check for any leakage by the bleeders and all connecting points. If you suspect a spot where it is leaking, spray it off with some brake cleaner and dry area. Check it at a later time for any wet spots, trace it to where it came from.

you, know i thought it might be the master cylinder because i can hear a bit of air leaking when i have someone press the brake pedal. i was told that air will escape when the m/c goes bad. i may just get a new one and put it in.
