About JDM engine

I am thinking to put a j-spec engine for my 87 T2 .
do I need to change ECU and anything else?

No, just use your old wiring harness and fuel injectors.

As long as you put in another S4(87-88) it s/b cake. If you happened to get one with high imp. injectors that's as easy as adding resistors. I don't think JDM engines will have an EGR but that s/b no problem. You could put in an S5, but they have the dual TPS which you'd have to work around. But the S5s have a better turbo so might be preferable.

Other things to watch out for...

Use your original engine mounts and brackets.&nbsp Some of the JDM engines come with different brackets.

Use the JDM main (timing) pulley (and CAS).&nbsp The timing marks are different, and running the US-spec pulley is going to drive you crazy.
