I'm planning on buying my 1st 7 in a few weeks. I've got a quick question about interiors. Did the pre 89 FCs have a black interior? Every FC I've looked at has a light grey or blue interior. I like the look of the 89 I saw yesterday with black carpet/plastic and am hoping the pre-89's come with black carpet/plastics.

 

I'm going to say no. The only one was the 10 AE....It had black interior.

 

As far as I can remember there are pre 89's with black. What I believe Turbonut is thinking is AE's were the only ones with black LEATHER prior to 89. But I could be wrong as well.

 

I've yet to see a pre 89', except the AE, to have Black Interior right out of the factory.

 

My Brave Blue TII has a black interior. I think they had various combinations of interiors & exteriors. I've seen my white vert with black and blue interiors.

 

Yup...I was thinking leather in the Turbo. I went to the '88 catalog and it doesn't even list the interior colors, just exterior, however there is a red convertible on the cover and sure enough it looks like it has black interior.
Just curious, the Brave Blue TII with black interior....Is it leather. If so I'm in error on both.

No, The only S4 car to come with black interior was the 88 10AE. The Brave blue exterior normally came with a Black interior, but was only available as a S5 car.

The red 'vert on the cover of the 88 sales POP was also the charcoal gray interior.
