AAS and aftermarket coilovers

From what i understand the AAS system that was equipped in GXL model cars would essentially set up the damper to be a bit stiffer. Is the system dynamic in the sense that it adjusts constantly when on the road or is it simple and just stiffens the ride a bit?
I was looking at the motors that work the stock shocks and i thought it would be neat to adapt them to work on coilovers on the street. If the system just turns the compression **** to stiffen the car i think it would be an interesting feature to keep.
What are your thoughts? can it be done? Comments and insight are welcome

I like it, might take some modifying, and fabrication, but I'm no expert on the AAS, I just know mine works.

I like the idea of keeping the car streetable but ready for the track. With the way i have the compression set up right now its not very street friendly. The coilovers im running are tein flex which are compatible with teins own self adjusting system (the name escapes me right now)

You're trying to build an EDFC system. I looked into doing exactly this project a while ago. I am well-versed in these types of components and it really isn't feasible.

The problem is the difference in how the shocks' adjustable mechanism is built and the related control system. If you were to turn the AAS shock adjustment **** 6 clicks clockwise, it would go soft, medium, hard, soft, medium, hard. Current adjustable shocks would be soft, medium-soft, medium, medium-hard, hard, super hard. See the problem trying to control one with the other?

You'd have to replace the shock, the actuator, and the controller. At that point, you're just using the stock switch and possibly the wiring.
