924/924S and FC RX-7....

To better put it - than in the lounge...

I've been told nermous of times.. that the 924/924S Porsche is very similar to the FC RX-7, is that true? I just thought people confused our cars with them, because o the front end/lip that looks awefully like the Porsche.

Anyone know?

They share a lot of similarities...size, general shape, some sttyling cues, the noses look very similar, if you just get a glance, one could definitely be mistaken for another. Find a 924, or 944, or a 968, and sit them side by side, you'll see what ppl mean.

i have a porsche 924S, and my friend josh (TriTurbo) is getting an FC and when we went to look at it in my car i parked next to it and the only real difference is that his didn't have a wing, mine was about 2 in lower, his was a little wider, and my nose has that pointy thing and his doesn't

Yea, we parked em side by side just last sunday night. They are incredibly similar. But of all things i would say the nose is one of the few things that sets them apart. Besides the FC's seats are acually smaller, i can't picture anything more than a small child in the rear seats of a 2+2.

I just hope the 7 Will handle like his. Taking twisty road in the middle of nowhere at 80mph is just too much fun. and cruising around turns on the highway at 110, nothing better than the feel of speeding around a turn.

And his stereo works.. Damnit !

This weekend when i pick up my 7 ( hopefully, if i can find someone with a truck to tow it on a trailer) I was hoping to get pics of the two cars together. I could post em if u all would like.

from everything ive heard/read the FC was styled to mimic the 944, the 924s big brother. i believe the similarities were actualy the subject of a few RX-7 adds in the eighties. yes they do look similar, but as an owner of both cars i can say that the two cars take completley different aproaches to performance. i prefer the RX-7 over the Porsche but thats my taste.

The FC was designed to take on the 944 (and 951) in performance and styling.
