91 s5 rebuild

hey guys I just had a question im looking to rebuild my s5 engine is there anything I should buy besides the rebuild kit. This is my first attempt at rebuilding a rotary and since I'm at wyotech i wanted to give it a shot since no one at this school has much experience with rotary engines and i parked my vert for the winter. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

You should fix what really needs to be repaired. But if you're looking to spend some extra cash for a more reliable car... I would say (along with the rebuild kit) all new bushings, suspension, engine mounts, transmission mounts, differential mounts, fuel filter, fuel sock, quality tires... It all depends on what you're looking to spend.

Great FREE rebuild video: Aaron Cake's 13B rebuild video.

Suspension and other chassis parts im not worried about. Also a master rebuild kit os what i ,was looking tp do. Im just talking about rebulding the rotary engine.

You will know more when the engine is disassembled. Refer to the FSM for tolerances and if any parts are not within spec, or well worn replace them. You may also need new bearings. I don't recall if these come with rebuild kits. Good luck and if you have questions during the rebuild process this is a great place to ask em.

I did a rebuild and used the atkins master rebuild kit... I used almost everything in the kit. If your gonna just rebuild the engine, then if you can affoard it replace the engine mounts with the newer type mounts. If you have a 5 speed, then replace the clutch, plate and throw-out bearing. Also replace the waterpump. Good luck..
