91 rotors into 86

I have an 88 rx. It's quick, but everyone wants more power. My friend totaled his 91. Question #1 is can you switch the rotors from the 91 into an 86 block I have. Question #2 is how much trouble and how expensive would that be.

1. Yes, but use the front counterweight, E shaft and flywheel.

2. A lot cause it requires a rebuild. Unless you can do it yourself.

If you're going to do that, why not swap the entire motor? The intake is better on the later cars which is responsible for a good portion of the added HP.

Uhg!!!

It ain't bad when someone tells you exactly what you need and you don't spend weeks figuring it out on your own. Parts list: EVERYTHING! Seriously, you can switch the long block and if you car has the low-impedance injectors just swap them out. Everything will bolt in. If you have the high-impedance injectors in the 88 just swap the entire long block. DOH! Forgot about the oil injection. That'd present a problem. The early pump won't fit on the later front cover. You could switch front covers, or toss the pump all together and run premix, or do the entire swap with all the electrics too. I'd say even if you did that it'd be cheaper and easier than trying to rebuild just to swap the rotors.
