91 miata viscous diff in s5 n/a?

I've read the writeups on installing a miata torsen diff, do the same rules apply for the earlier years viscous diffs? I've got a line on one for practically dirt. Thanks in advance.

the miata started in '90, but yeah, all 1.6L miatas have a different diff. you need one from a 1.8L '94-
