Cool 90 Turbo II - Open Hood Surgery

Today was the start of the rejuvenation of my newly aquired 90 Turbo II. Its at 1-Day Paint & Body getting $1500 worth of paint and repairs as we speak, hopefully it will be done by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Untill then I shall stop by and take a few pictures of the process each day, and update you guys on here with PICTURES!! For those of you who didnt already know, I picked her up in Arkansas, and DROVE back to California. As for what they are doing to her, well it got bumped in the front from a tree!... but its not that bad, so sit back, relax and enjoy the pics!

I cant believe how fast he did all that repair... its DONE already!!! I stopped by the shop to give him the molding for the pass fender, and by then the shop was closed to the public but still open, and I was checking out my car... well all the front is pulled out already, with front bumper/support ON the car as well. The hood also had a dent in it from the front and thats done too... I was amazed. Tomorrow I will go back to check out the sanding/priming process, and take some more pics.

I don't know why Kumho discontinued those tires... they were the best. Oh, good luck on the paint too. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Speak for yourself, im not too fond of these tires... they are crap compared to my Toyo Proxes 4 on my black TII, personally I wouldnt buy Kumho, but it came with the car. They squeel too much, break loose easily, and dont grip that great. Good for practicing drifting, but thats about it.

As for the paint, I would like to have went with black again, but thats just not my cup of tea, having the engine bay RED, and the car black... so I stuck with the factory color.

Sit tight, more pictures coming SOON!

Stage 2!

Well, the repairs are finished, and the bodywork looks to be almost done. He informed me that he will start the paint on monday, so im guessing any final touch ups will be done tomorrow and prep'd for paint. I will go back on monday to check out the paint, and he said everything should be finished by Wednesday. So until then heres some more pictures of the bodywork!

I guess nobody cares about what a FC looks like without any flaws, and fresh paint...

I think you misunderstood me, im not going to change the color because I dont want to have a different color engine bay... it looks retarded. Thats why I kept it the factory red!

Good call deltron, I can't stand mismatched engine bays. It would be a lot more work to get the engine bay color changed to match as well. Can't wait to see the result.

I liked them because they were inexpensive. I know they're not the greatest, but for what they cost they did great.

Awesome red by the way. That thing looks outstanding!

Looks brand-new shiny... I'm sure we'd all like to repaint our cars but since old people like to back into me and punk @ss b@st@rds like to key shiny cars I'll pass. I'll leave the dents in it and just add a racing stripe for looks lol
