90 N/A how to test secondary injector ?
Hi All,
I have 2 rx7, the first one is a 86 and the other one is a 90.
I have troubleshoot my injector problem on the 86 already and found that i have a resistor that is kaput!
I have juste disconnected the vacc hoses from the prsssur sensor and get the rpm to 4000. I can ear 1 of the two secondary injector opening.
Now on my new 90, I try to troubleshoot the injector (secondary). I would like to know if i can do the same way as I done it on my 86 ?. I havbe try to do the same thing and i can't ear any opening click on the seconfdary injector.
I have look at the fsm and cannot find the way of testing it.
Could somebody point me in the right direction ?

Yes. The 90 n/a works just the same as the 86.
I usually use a meter by backprobing each secondary and watching the voltage drop as they come online. I have to admit that wouldn't mean the injector is actually opening/shutting. But if you listen like you have been you can tell if they are clicking or not.

I'd think it's a driver in the ECU if the wiring b/t the injector and the ECU is good. If you swap injectors, as in the good to the bad injector location and vice versa, do you still have the problem? I'd try that first if the wiring b/t the ECU and the *malfunctioning injector* is good.
Frankly I'm not sure anymore if there are four injector drivers or just two. ONe for primary and one for secondarys. Maybe someone out there knows for sure.
