90 into a 88, please help
ok, i have just bought a 88 gxl, but it has 233,000 miles on it and its missing some engine parts. about a year ago i came across a 90 gxl that had been totaled. i bought it for like 200 dollars. because i love rx7's and new it would be great for parts. now that i have a nice body for that engine i want to go ahead and put the 90 engine in the 88 body. i have a haynes manual so i have directions, and i have been a car guy since i got my first matchbox car. any suggestions or advice would be appreciated

Well your front covers are going to be different and you'll have to switch these out.
And the 90 won't have the egr valve on the top like your 88 does so you'll have to figure out a emissions fix for that.
Other than that you should be able to get it to work.
It might be a bitch to start if you use the 90 fuel injectors as they're higher resistence. Keep the 88's unless that's the year they went to higher resistence injectors.....
Give me a pm if you need any help while doing this.
My 91 sitting outside right now has a 87 gxl block in it. So I did what you're going to do in reverse
