90 Gxl stereo install question

ok, Im outside installing stereo in the gxl and cant get audio.. Is there a amp or anythign in the car that has to be bypassed?

Yes. There are like two amps for the door speakers, located under the dash, little silver boxes. I don't remember the wire colors but I removed them completely and ran the wires going into the amps to the wires going out. There is some other way to bypass them but why when you can remove 3 pounds of useless crap?

my suggestion is to completely re-wire the speakers and eliminate the factory "common ground BS"

Agree totally, I installed new wiring, a new deck and new speakers to my 87 base before i even got the 1st rebuild going. and new good quality wiring with speakers that are a little better than stock sounds great.
