Save up about 1k and buy yourself a cusco/kaaz/os giken/tomei or something. It's a toss up wether or not you should get a 2 way or 1.5 way. Most drifters like either or.

I guess you don't know how to read...

as posted earlier in this thread:

Hell I can leave both wheels having burn out marks on a FWD sentra.
So because you have a differential housing and poor traction, you think you have a LSD???

ah, yeah... okay...

Then you have either a speedo/gauge cluster off of a 90, and not an 89 or you don't know what year car you have. What is the 10th Digit in your car's VIN? K or L???

All 90 and 91 models including the base strippy 90 GTU had a 160 MPH speedo.

Tell you what... before you say something else dumb... maybe you should read this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/specifications-what-did-2nd-generation-rx-7-come-w-options-standard-features-642372/

Most car's do not come with a LSD stock... including such sporty cars as the new $45,000 BMW twin turbo 335i coupe or the $40,000 370z.

Just because you want a LSD doesn't mean that the car comes with one. Hell half the people out there can not tell even what a LSD does or why it would even be remotely used.

You have a Coupe.

In 91 there were three models. The coupe (which was the non turbo coupe), the convertible, and the Turbo.

No such thing as a 91 GXL. Since you too seem unable to read the Sticky thread showing what models are available in what years (https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=642372) here is the option page for the 91:

1991 options and standard features:

See no 1991 GXL... only a Coupe, a Convertible, or the Turbo (and not even a Turbo II).

Dude... if your car was made December of 1989 then it is a 1990...

Generally anything made after the 7th or 8th month of the year (and on some FC's as early as the 6th month of the year) is the next model year car. In the 1990 model year FCs were made in 12/89 to 11/90.

And your mechanic is clueless. If you really had a LSD from the factory (on your 89 or 90) then it would be a either a GTUs model (which you say it has a factory steel sunroof, so that instantly rules that out) or someone swapped one in, in which case there there would be a Yellow LSD tag on the fill plug for the differential.

You don't have a LSD. Your mechanic doesn't have a clue and probably wouldn't know how to check a viscous LSD anyway.

So you have a yellow LSD Tag on the differential fill plug?

Let make it really really really really simple. Go jack up the rear end of the car. Put the car in Neutral with the Key off. Turn the passengers rear wheel by hand. Does the drivers side move the same direction or the opposite direction?

Same direction and you have a LSD. Opposite direction and you have the open (non LSD) differential that I know you actually have.

And while you are out at the car; go look at the VIN and answer the question I asked you earlier (what is the 10th digit of the VIN) K or L??? K would mean you have a 89 and someone has swapped your gauge cluster (which probably means your car has more miles than you think it does).

not gana go jack my car up but the car has a black and orange plug on the LSD

and i jsut posted my vin.. it has a K... witch means the cluster has been swaped i guess...

my car shows 190,000 miles and still runs great minus a small oil drip i get once and awhile... so maby my car has less miles then i think. HOPEFULLY

well no FC came from the factory with a Black and orange plug on the differential assembly so I sure do not know what that has to do with anything other than some past owner of your car was hung up on Halloween colors.

If there is a S4 LSD swapped in, there should be a Yellow tag hanging from the fill bolt on the differential. But of course at 100,000 miles it (and a S5 viscous differential) would be worn to the point of being an open differential anyway. Some of the Miatas that also used the 7 inch Viscous differential (as only found on the 1989 and 1990 GTUs model) were worn out with as little as 60,000 miles on them.

But go ahead and think you have a LSD if it makes you feel good. But saying you do or thinking you do, without any proof you really do (and unwilling to jack the car up and actually check)... well... is like believing in Santa or Jesus.

And Finally, a non turbo that was treated well should easy last 200,000 miles.

I thought I might but wasn't sure, so when it was jacked up, left it in neutral spun my driver side rear tire and it was causing my other tire to spin.... doesn't that mean lsd? Or is this the same as you mentioned earlier, cause thats how I was told to check.

WOW, seriously. Does anyone read a freakin thread before they respond to it? Icemark has named several times what years correspond to what model and options, not to mention gave the link to the STICKIE and explained how to tell what year you have and even explained how to tell if you have a LSD or not by what tag to look for, but how to manually check (rotate your tire, the opposite tire either spins with or opposite to) and you freakin idiots STILL post stupid *** comments and questions. It’s so freakin SAD on so many levels. 1: My beloved FC has depreciated so much that idiotic kids with no mechanical ability now own them and they all want to be MaD TyTe DoRiftO AcTiOn playas. 2: This younger generation has NO READING COMMPREHENSION. 3: More than half of you have no idea WTF a LSD is, how it works, or the different types, but you know you want one. 4: The lack of just plain car knowledge, let alone FC knowledge is baffling. 5: All the FC's are being tore up for measly none performance enhancing "weight reduction" interior stripping, fenders are being butchered for "MAD FAT LIP" 18X12 wheels with super skinny 225's tires, engines are constantly being blown due to a pure lack of knowledge and just plain taking short cuts. 6:.. I can go on, but I think I've said too much already..

Sheesh..... I just remembered why I stick to the single turbo sections and shy away from the 2nd gen sections.

WOOW, this thread is full of WIN! hahahahah

and to make it simple. put swap parts, i sure did, ive always swapped s4 N/a LSD into my S5's and sold them that way. hence that person had lsd in a S5,

like they said ealier, old car, ppl swap parts as they see fit.

also if you have the tag, then you got lsd,

All I'm sayin is that according to your lists, its saying my car isn't lsd, but I manually checked it and that said i do. So thanks for being such a dick about it, I have an upgrade list from when i bought the car and it says nothing about changing the diff. So I was a little confused, yet you come on here and act like I'm ****** retarded. This is what makes me hate this forum sometimes!

With all of the remarks of "the LSD has a tag" I'm wondering how long it is before people start fabricating bogus LSD tags and sticking them on their pumpkins.
