90 GTU Manual Trans Problem - Will Not Shift!
Hey everyone,
Since i bought my seven, I've spent way more hours under the hood than I care to mention, as most everyone here has. However, my case is a little different. I've had the cars for three years and have NEVER ONCE DRIVEN THE CAR!!!!!!
I have had a continuing problem with my manual transmission. When i bought the car, the entire drive train had been removed. The engine was blown, but the tranny was in great shape. I bought a rebuilt motor from the mazda dealership and set to work. Everything was perfect after that, everything went into place, there were no buzzers going off and the engine runs like a dream! but when i crank the car and press the clutch, i cannot shift into gear. the transmission shifts when the car is off fine, but when the clutch is pressed, the it wont allow me to put it into any gear.
i've replaced the clutch slave and master cylinder and it's a brand new clutch, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing. the tranny is lined up correctly and there are no gaps.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! If i can't figure it out then i have to sell it. and honestly i'm getting tired of it just sitting and not being sideways.

Push the clutch in and have someone look at the clutch fork to see if the slave plunger is pushing the fork to engage the clutch.
Did you bleed the clutch?does it feel OK pedal-wise?
.are you sure that the throw out bearing was facing the right way when you installed it?
