The good:
The engine revs MUCH quicker.
The bad:
It takes higher revs to get going, and it's not that great for drag racing.

I've used one on the street for almost 2 years, in 2 different cars, and I like it alot. I may switch it for the stock flywheel for some drag racing.

Why would it be bad for 1/4 mile ????
Seems like you could get thru your gears faster...
Also what about a High Grip Clutch.
I am looking to get the setup at www.shaneracing.com for my FC t2 tranny

Quote from Shane Racing."1987-1991 RX-7 Turbo II
#9.5 aluminum flywheel, counterweight, hardware and bearing kit and ACT clutch set. (race or street / strip)

Should I get the street ot strip clutch... Pleez look at it here

The heavy flywheel has more momentum. So the revs don't drop alot between shifts. With a light flywheel the revs drop alot more between shifts.

If you're running alot of power I would say go for the street/strip clutch. If you're looking for more than 300 HP I would say to use the racing clutch. The racing clutch has no springs. So the engagement is very abrupt. The street/strip clutch will be alot like the stock one, but it holds up much better.
