AZ 9.7:1 any numbers?

I know I have been very inquisitive lately. But I can assure you that I always search before starting a new thread.

First let me tell some about myself: I've been lurking the forum for about 4 months now (bought my FC in OCT) . I just recently created this account to communicate with the rotary world.

Anyway. After I bought my '7 Ive been doing all kinds of research and putting together a list of things I want to do.

My latest question involves s5 rotors. I want to interchange s5 9.7:1 rotors into my s4 (9.4:1) I know it isn't much But I would like to know what other parts are involved and more importantly--is there any gain to it at all? This intrigues me because I usually see some s5 rotors for sell pretty cheap.

Any feedback is appreciated. Im only 18 but I have access to a lift, arc welder and full mechanic tools, so dont be shy into the nitty gritty.

There are a number of internal engine seals you will have to replace because they lose much of their strength if removed then reused, and since you'll have it open you may want to do other things like porting, replacing old seals... You ought to let us know what you want to make for power and if you feel like telling us, how much money you are willing to drop for it.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping internals would still be sound, But I didn't really plan on doing it unless I needed a rebuild anyway(hoping not too soon the '7 is my DD)
As for power goals: I just want a fast street car. Has to not make me want to kill myself when I drive it around town, but run decent times when I take it to the strip in vegas.

Money: Gotta do it piece by piece. I can spend quite a bit, just have to save for whatever I need

One idea I have floating right now is just to buy a s4 block and build it up while still being able to drive the car.

Like I said in the first post. This is all research for what I will hopefully build sometime soon. Ill get a thread up sometime this week with pics of current mods and whatnot.

I apologize if this seems kind of redundant or runon-- just a bit groggy atm.

You need the S5 front and rear counterweights. Instead of the rear counterweight, you could use a stock S5 flywheel though.

For the amount of money your going to spend swapping rotors/rebuilding the motor...
You could be buying a TII or doing a turbo swap.

S5 motor swap == 1500-3K and you get about 10-20hp
TII swap or car = 2-5k and you get 70+hp

And of course. Arizona Rotary Rockets is in Tempe
