89 Vert starting checklist after extended storage

Hey everyone,

I haven't seen my Vert in over 2 years and the indoor storage place I have it at is closing down so I need to end up moving her to my place until I figure out a storage solution.

I parked her about 2-3 years ago and she ran perfectly fine, fresh oil, and all maintenance done. I went to go start her today, after charging the battery and surprisingly the battery is still fully functional. The car cranks easily, no lumps or anything but I tried for 10 minutes on and off, with the gas pedal depressed and then pumping it. After the second try she started up revved fine for 5 seconds and then died.

I thought I left gas in her when I stored her but it seems she is empty. I plan on returning tomorrow with a jug of fresh gas but do you guys think that could be it? She started fine twice and huge clouds of smoke came out of the tailpipe but almost immediately she just dies even if I am on the throttle. I don't think that is a compression issue as she fires up and just dies.

I just want to cover all my bases, as I need her to be moved and I can do all the extra maintenance she may need at my place.

I plan on replacing all the tires as they seem to be all flat but do you guys think it will cause damage to roll it out of the storage locker with flat tires so I can pump them up outside? I don't have room to get at the tires currently to pump them up.

Thanks everyone,
it's good to be back behind a 7 again.

Your gas might be bad from sitting too long
There could be a vacuum leak from aging hoses
check the air filter for obstructions like from mice or rodents
