Decided to take my vert for a drive today and as I was going down the street after leaving my driveway it sputtered and died. I started it back up and drove again but as soon as I went above 2k rpm it lit the CEL and flashed everytime I went above 2k.
I checked the for the code and it was 2 long flashes and 7 short ones.
The check engine light doesn't come on when idling after restarting the car and I can redline it no problem. it's only when I drive it above a certain speed and rpms as I left my driveway without any codes or issues.
I read up on how this is an OMP code BUT they all say it starts immediately after the car is started where I can leave the car idling for 30 minutes and never have a code pop up.
Any ideas? Is it truly the OMP or some weird gremlin?
My '89 TII had that code many years ago, maybe 30 miles from home, but made it back.
Installed another OMP and good to go. Some say it can damage the ECU, but no other
problems after install.
So I did a resistance test according to the FSM and the only two pins within spec are +B1 and SM2 as well as +B2 and SM3. All other pins read as 1 and no matter which setting on the multimeter I use it doesn't change, from 200 to 2 million. I have attached a photo of what pins actually read within spec.

I'm guessing mine went out but used ones are 600+ CAD right now. It's weird because the car doesn't trigger a check engine light on idle, or driving under 2k rpm. I can idle her forever and never have a check engine light and I can rev to the limiter with no issues. Most times I see people here saying that it immediately causes a check engine light upon start up.

When mine was on, just drove it home with the light on all the time, put it in the garage and replaced
the OMP. Just a FYI, many years ago the OMP I purchased was from Aaron, but in the interim, picked
up a couple more when they became available at a reasonable price. The only problem is I never checked
the used units I purchased, just that they were from a running vehicle, at least that's what I was told.
