sup guys i just finished my true dual set up today!
i started yesterday at 10 am in the mornin and ended today. it was a b**** to do lol. my dad and i assembled it. hes welder he does it for a livin. but here are some pix of the set-up, i dunno if there was a better way but this is the way i did it so then it wont be in the middle of my tranny and driveshaft if i have to remove them. well hope u enjoy the pix. if u have any comments pls post. thanx

looks great dude, what sort of hp gains are you anticipating?
how does the fitmit look? since they're straight i'm guessing you having to run them lower than the stock ones?

ummmm..... correct me if i'm worng....... but wouldnt u lose hp by doing that......... dosenet that mess with the exhaust scavaging(think thats the term)....... most v8 cars run a H-pipe or an X-pipe(corvetts run X-pipes) because exhaust flows better then if u were to just run 2 pipes striaght back

^^^yo noel he's right it looks like yall crushed the sh_ out of the pipes on the bends.
Crush bent pipes are not suitable for a performance exhaust I would have spent the few extra dollars for mandrel bends and gotten 2x45 degree bends not the 2x 90s, you're going to make more noise than power with that setup

its a good thing his RX's a 4x4 otherwise those would get so fucked up so fast...sooo low...
You should post a soundclip. Im interested in how loud it is. i hope there arnt many cops around where you live otherwise you're screwed.

well to tell u the truth. i can feel a lil more power than i had b4. and now i can run it to 8-8.5 rpm with no hesitation. and i also did it because its different im tired of seeing the same damn thing. every1 wants apexi n1 and all that other crap but i just wanted to be different.
Hmm.
A for Effort.
C for execution.
D for true duals.
Yes it is less restrictive and therefore more power than the stock multi cat crap.
However.
They need to be tuned to get the proper scavenging from the engine.
Either A... Tuned length un-collected all the way back. (Good luck unless you have a engine dyno and a lot of room to pick a nice harmonic length for a given RPM... otherwise you are in the weeds guessing)
Or B.. Collected. Either Short, or Long. I personally prefer long. Many prefer short. BUT. YOu need once again to make sure that the collection point you have.. and the tube diameter is correct for YOUR APPLICATION. Just cause Joe blow uses 2" ID pipes with a 22 Inch collection point with his motor doesnt mean it will be right for your stock one. You may be better off with 2" OD and a RB short collected pipe for the stocker you drive. OR.. maybe its ported.. maybe the long collected is better. The resonators will give more effective length.. (Ever do speaker design?)
In a nutshell... LOOK at a 2 stroke dirtbike. What happens when you have a tuned exhaust on one? It rips at higher RPM that the pipe is tuned for. Have stock exhaust.. its fine.. screams. Streight pipe? Screams a lot louder... but makes no more power. Tuned exhaust? There ya go.
No valves to interrupt the exhaust flow etc.. we need to extract the exhaust, and also have a reversion wave to prevent exhaust flow until we are ready for it to bounce back at the proper time... and pull any exhaust that is behind it with it.
Really.. you have exhaust that you like. Good. Its different.. and you like it. Thats what counts.
If I were you.. I would invest in a RB short collected header, run a splitter from that out to your duals, and call it a day. You get the scavenging/tuned exhaust, and you have duals that you made up. Shoot.. keep em seperate from the header back. It will have tuned noise.. it will be loud.. and it will rip and make good power. That seems to be what you want.. /shrug
