89-91 TII 500 bucks

today I was traveling to a clients to work on thier computer when I look over and see an s5 tII sitting in a mechanic lot. I pulled over and asked if it was for sale and he said that someone may be buying this week but if he doesn't he will sell it to me and it's 500 bucks. The car has been sitting for a while however the interior looks great. The car only has 51k miles but since its been sitting so long he said that the engine is locked. Do you think the atf trick would work? Anyways I think the hood and the tails would pay for itself right off the bat if I did descide to part it out. Of course I would take the tails but the turbo and everything else has to be goood. Anyways I was just woundering if 500 bucks is a good price for this? Thanks.

Things I saw wrong with it.

1 Seat torn, otherwise interior in almost perfect condition.
2 side swipe on passenger side but easily fixable
body in perfect condition other than that

I purchased my 87 TII for $860 running(old man didnt know what he had hehehehehe....really....didnt even know what a roraty motor was). The only thing really wrong with the motor are the leaky injectors causing it to flood and a damaged front left fender that Im replacing with one I bought off e-bay. 500-600$ sounds cool....just dont sleep on the couch too long heheheh j/k

Hey I live in Mandeville and would be really interested in some of the parts, if you are going to part out. Also let me know if you don't take it, I would like a shot at it. fulbrightd@charter.net

DON'T PART IT OUT!

You can sell a S5 TII with a blown engine for $2000. Plus, why would you want to take another rare S5 TII off the road, when it could be fixed for a grand. Buy it for $500, get a $1100 engine rebuilt by Kevin Landers, and then sell the car for $6000+.

You can't beat the opportunity to make $4000 or more, just by repairing a car.

Good Lord, that's a fantastic deal. I'd pay significantly more for that car, 500 is a steal. Since it's going to need a rebuild that's a nice opportunity to do a little street port on it.

The wheels aren't BBS their Mazda's own meshie concoction. 16"

Tail lights alone are $200. I'd say fix it and sell. No point to parting it out unless it has extensive body damage.
