I have an 88 vert with grey leather covered seats. I'd like to replace them with fabric covered seats. Are those seats particular to verts or will any S4 or S5 seats fit in these cars?

They are not particular no verts but any rotary enthusiast will know that you replaced them because the seats that are in the verts are perculiar in that they come from factory with a leather trim and speakers in the headrest. So if you can deal with those then you should be fine.

 

Any FC seat/rail bolts into any FC rx-7.

Non headrest speaker equiped verts came with the adjustable headrest seats also found in the GXL, stock. So, if you found GXL seats, it'd technically still be stock.
