yeah i know but when the CEL was on it wouldnt pull codes at all it wouldnt blink it would just stay on and it was wired correctly to pull them

Not entirely accurate RE.

My S5 computer stored a code from a couple of years prior when I started the car and forgot to plug in the AFM after detailing my engine bay. I jumpered the test connector to set my idle and was like "what the hell, why do I have a code flashing?!" and it was code 8. Took me a minute to realize why it was there because it was from so long ago.

It will not, however store most codes.
