Question 88 vert and alternator

Seems as though I popped the alternator. I got on it rathter hard from the light (tough to do with a na vert) to the gas station. Engine surged a bit at the pump just before turning it off. Then when I went to leave there was nothing when I tried to start it. It be dead. Had AAA come jump it thinking it was the battery. Got it started and seem to run fine. Then it started sputtering and woudn't hold any type of steady rpm. Tried to nurse it to shop. Wasn't going to happen. Hello AAA. Definitely sounds like alternator. Now what alt. to replace it with. No monster stereo system, couple of amps, have factory and aftermarket alarm and just the hella horms on the car. What do you think, thanks, Nick

I don't know about an alternator. They do die, so maybe you'll be fine with oem/junkyard job. On another topic, did you install the aftermarket alarm? Was it difficult to integrate with the stock alarm? Do you have a link or any helpful info you can share on that topic?

If it was your alternator, the BATT light at the idiot cluster would've been on. Was it on?
