88 Vert or 88 10th Anniv
Greetings,
I have a problem. I'm hoping I can get some input from you all out there.
Which would you rather keep, the 88 vert or 88 10th anniversary? Neither of which run. Or should I make the vert into a turbo?
Thanks,
Jason

Condition is definately the final deciding factor.
The AE will more likely be the collectible in a few years due to it being relatively rare, but the convertible is and always will be a convertible, therefore having its own appeal to the masses as the years roll by.
On a shorter term, the convertible will have more resale value, but that will be irrelevant, in, say 5 more years.
I guess what you want in a car will also help determine what you should do.

I'd vote for the Vert....
as this is the best set up Vert any manufacturer. Headrest speakers (how else to hear you're tunes with the top down), hard center panel (no wind flap noise that is a noise drawback on most any other type Vert), and it's the only factory Wankle Vert ever made. Plus, less expensive to own as is NA (less to break) and runs on less expensive regular gas.
But this is a "Cruise mobile", not a GO mobile. If you look for the latter in your "Ride", then should go for the 10th Anniversary.
Normally, I'd suggest you go for you're third option of retro-fitting a TII drivetrane into your Vert (which is the ultimate 2nd Gen in my opinion). But, to take a 10th Anniversary off the road to use as a donor car just seems plain wrong.
But, a TII Vert with headlight washers. Hmmmmmmmmm.
In summary, if you go Vert, then your driving face will be

I'm interested in what you decide. I'm in the San Gabriel Valley area. So, I hope to see the ride you decide on when you're done. I just finished completely restoring a '91 Vert (I'm too detail minded for my own good I think), so I can give and show some points and ideas if you go that way.
Good luck.

I haven't yet bought the 10th anniversary, but do have the vert. I don't believe I'm going to purchase the 10th ann. I will however, give all of you the info to purchase it if interested.
The guy that owns the car is Chris and he's located in Canuga Park(sp), CA. It's near the Los Angeles area. He's asking $1100 obo and says it's in great condition, except the fact of it not running. His numbers are (818) 231-7777 & (818)887-9967 & 994-1804.
I hope this is of interest to someone out there.
Take it easy,
Jason

I would buy the 10th ann, but I already have 3 RX-7's. Plus I'm suppose to be picking up another this weekend and have my eye on another already. So, that will make 5 if all goes well.
