88 Turbo II wont idle

ok my turbo II has been parked for about a month because some jackass tried to steal it and broke a key off in the ignition, and it had flat tires (too many burnouts :-D) well i got 3rd gen rims and tires for em, threw em on the backs, found out they dont fit in front (waiting on spacers) and cut the ignition off of the collumn (the part that locks the stearing wheel at least). now i have this little yellow ignition looking thing that i can start with any key. now here is the problem:

i was driving the car the day that i "fixed" the ignition, and after a while it ran out of gas (i dont think any 2nd gen RX-7 gas gauges work) so i threw in a few gallons and tried to start her up. no good cranked fired and then died. i pushed her home (right around corner) tried again... same thing. went to try again later and realized i had left the stupid yellow deal in the on position so my battery was dead. took a battery from another car, wouldnt work. checked the fuses the main fuse in engine bay blew. replaced it. car went back to cranking firing and dying. i checked the fuel filter and it was hella bad so i replaced it. checked the firing order that some guy before me did and it was all screwed up. so i replaced the plugs and put them in the correct order and now she will fire and if i give it some gas (keep it at 3k and above) she will run but kinda sputter, any lower and she will die.

anyone have any idea of what could be wrong, how to fix it, or any similar situations?

sorry for typing so much but i'd rather give all details :-)

its your fuel pump
if u ran out of fuel u probably damaged the pump because fuel is lubrication for the pump therefore its probably out now!
