88 Turbo II NO START
88 Turbo II NO START
I’ve been running a little rich lately so I decided to change the o2 sensor and Thermo sensor behind water pump under the alternator and now it won’t start. I ran out of time to really diagnose it but it smelled like it was getting fuel so I assume no spark. Would a faulty Thermo sensor cause this? If the rain lets up I’ll do some more investigating. Thanks for the input
I would first stat by making sure the engine is not flooded. Pull the plugs and make sure they are not gas soaked. If they are then you will want to clean them and dry them and go through the deflood procedure. Once you have done that see if the engine will start. did you replace the oxygen sensor with a universal sensor or did you use a direct fit sensor?
I guess it was a universal Bosch o2. I also found another problem with a disconnected wire. There is a b/w wire on the starter cut relay that another wire was spliced into it and went down by the starter but was disconnected. From what I’m reading that maybe the extra wire tapped in for the signal to the ecu to fire coils and injectors? I’m trying to figure out how to test the square condenser mounted to strut tower by trailing coil.
