88 TPS... wtF?

Oookay.. I know that http://www.k2rd.com/Tech_Info/FC3S_T...O/TPS/tps5.jpg is for the 89+ rx7, but i did that test on my 88 anyway.. Base is 1.14 k-ohms.. A tad high..

But uh.. how the hell do you adjust it on the 86-88?! I can find no equivalent to the adjusty screw the 89+'s have.

Also... After about 15% throttle (from inside the car), i've already reached 5.46 k-ohms, and it goes no more. Upon further inspection, it's because the TPS is in fact a little plunger resistor... and the travel is only like 1cm... After 15% throttle, the metal frob that pushes on the plunger is past the centimeter, and obviously has no more affect on the TPS reading!! This sounds BAD, but i can't see how it could be any other way.. hmmmm

Am i missing something here?

Yellow arrow.

Yes, it's a "narrow-range TPS", so what you're seeing is totally normal.

Actually, it's off of my car, a 1987 Turbo II.

It looks different, cause you're is an NA.

The write-ups I make ar specifically designed for 1986-1988 Zenki turbos only.
