'88 T II Turbo Setup: Will This T4 Sized Turbo Work?
So i've been searching and reading all throughout the forums on here and found that a T4 turbo isnt that big of a turbo to a rotary engine. I have what I beleive is a T4 turbo but dont know if it is too big for my FC. When I start to upgrade the FC im looking for a 250-310 Hp and Trq range for daily driving with decent pickup power.
The cold side just says AIR. 60 and has a stamp that reads TURBOCHARGER, Type: T4ROTARY, Part NO. FC3S/FD3S, and then a serial number. The hotside just has AIR 1.15 stamped on it. It's brand new and I got it for free along with some other little things from a car we are lean selling.
Is this turbo a good one to use for the power range and performance im looking for? I am a newbie to both the rx-7 and turbocharging world so please tell me and teach me anything about these things if there's something I need to know.
I will most likely be installing a new/rebuilt engine into the car and am just getting everything I think I will need to make the power range im looking for. The engine and etc... most likely wont be installed for a few months if the current engine is still in OK condition to drive around with.
Thanks for any info/help

Overkill for your power goals. You will need a manifold and wastegate and a ton of other **** for that. That would be a great turbo for an FD going single turbo.
You can do a stage 2 BNR hybrid and make that kind of power, which means you can retain your stock turbo manifold.

I thought so.... Well, it's for sale if anybody need's it , but i'll go post it in the for sale forum...
So a BNR stage 2 would be the kind of turbo to use for that power goal?
Can I use an aftermarket wastegate with the stock/hybrid turbo? Like say a Tial 38mm so I can use my greddy profec b spec 2 controller.
I saw a few things on blocking off the stock internal wastegate, but how do I go about doing that? Or is that a bad idea to do?

So then how might I control the boost? Just keep the exhaust mostly stock to restrict flow and keep the boost low?
What im looking for is a controllable 250-350 hp range that I can drive daily. Like say one day I want to only run maybe 8 psi to save a little gas, and another I want to run maybe 11 or so.
I have a greddy profec b spec 2 sitting here that I got for free and is brand new and would like to put it to good use on the FC.
Am I missing something?

Not saying this counts for everyone- but I dont have a high post count, considering I rarely post- and more so research to neglect posting, however you do make a point to this sketchy situation. My best bet for the OP is to try and sell it to some honda kid on craigslist or something. That isnt going to work on here bud....

Ok im getting tired of having **** talked to me on here. I know nothing about turbo's and rx-7's. Its why i asked about this turbo first and was told it was to big for my hp goal so i decided to sell it.
I did not know the turbo was crap, I just new it had the FC3S/FD3S stamp on it and read that it was used for rx-7's.
I work on porsche and lamborghini cars not rotary engine's or turbo's, i thought i could get some helpful info on here but only 1/4 of you are any help.
I thank you for the helpful info i got from the few of you, and that RET... guy, if you want to keep talking crap go right ahead.
I'll probly get more info on rx-7's from my rennlist friends then on here....go and ask the rennlister's about me. They'll tell you im not some shady f*cker but a respectable porsche and lamborghini mechanic.
