88 se factory alarm

Does anyone have a factory alarm on their car ? last night we had a storm and it went off first time ever does any one know what makes the alarm go off

hmmm...

I could have sworn the OEM alarm wasn't available until 87, but could be wrong.

Usually if the alarms sees an "door or trunk open" without the key, then the alarm sounds.

Lightning sounds like an aftermarket system that has a break glass or motion sensor.

no break glass or motion sensor I tried hitting the car not to hard . It has the yellow light that blinks

funny noticed mine tonight, i half shut the door and when i went to open and reshut i forced it opoen and the allarm went off, scary **** considering i didnt knwo it was my car and stood there dumb founded for a second

The factory security systems trigger from Hood, doors, trunk and ignition.

So if it went off during a storm, either a door pin is getting wet, or the hood or hatch is out of adjustment.

how do u shut it off if it goes off? i think the guy i bought it from said just stick the key in the ignition?

no, you must turn the key to unlock in the doors or trunk.

Once armed, it will only trigger if you turn the ignition on.
