Question 88 Se?

Just wondering performance wise. Is there any reason not to get an 88 se?

any feedback would be great
Thanks

I have an 88 SE and I think it is a great car for a first time RX-7 owner to get. I wish I went Turbo, but I am glad to have a rotary in general.

My SE is great!

i love mine

i have an 87 SE and I love it. I don't even mind not having a turbo, its a great car. And just remember this, Any RX7 is fast, its just a matter of how fast you want it to be when getting one.

The GXL will have bigger brakes & calipers, a firmer suspension, and a limitted slip differential.

Hahaha, like mine? I heard someone call the SE the Shitty Eddition, I like my suspension, bigger callipers and sweet factory direct LSD on my 91 N/a and if you get an N/a remember their fast and don't have all the shitty headaces a turbo has.

A pure sports car

Hey man, I have a 88 SE and I'm telling you its GREAT CAR. Sure, its not as fast a turbo, but its a sports car true and its far more reliable!

All in all, I don't miss the power windows and other sissy options. A sports car should be a drivers car, not a passengers car!

I encourage you to get the 88 SE. You won't regret it.

Smile thanks guys

thanks for all the replys so far, the SE sounds good except for the not having lsd. I'm worried about that part. The thing I really want to be able to do is corner. Without the lsd it isn't going to handle as well on higher g turns. Im not sure what to do now.

I guess I'll have to just decide
again thank all of you, and I wouldn't mind more imput hehe

Umm mine lacks LSD and I can drift better than anything that does have LSD. LSD is extremelly overated and with it your tires will pull you a lot more meaning smother, however a car not equiped with LSD has a tendancy to pull a quicker corner, I have tried this by the way so no rethoric

My SE handled great without the LSD. The smaller brakes are just fine for street driving and autocross, but you may be a bit limited with the smaller 4-lug wheels. If you really want to corner, then get whatever coupe you can find, and slap on some Koni and Eibach goodies, as well as a nice new set of bushings. I never liked the GXL much, as I'm more of a GTU or Sport type of person.
