88 S4 N/A...INTERMITTENT NO START is "Chronic"...One Big Question...

For the past three years I have been trying without any resolve to this problem. Many of You have been been very helpful, especially Wayne. Icemark and Hailers and many more that I can't recall.

I have got this thing Honed down to one question and perhaps there is one person out there that has the answer. The question is:
WHAT WOULD MAKE FUEL NOT GET INTO THE ENGINE AND CAUSE A NO START ESPECIALLY IN HOT WEATHER AFTER SHE HAS BEEN DRIVEN ?

She will do it sometimes in cold weather after running but in hot weather it is worse. The following items have been either replaced or switched with the same from my other 88...

main relay
ECU
Air Box
Fuel Pump and Harness Assembley
Fuel filter
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Fuel pump relay (the one under the dash by the steering column)
Complete UIM removal with new Vacuum Hoses and grounds checked and cleaned
SHE IS NOT FLOODING
Fuel pressure is normal and within Specs
Crank angle sensor
reinforce grounds on the ECU
Both Coils
Injector Relay (the one by the Master Cylinder)....
....and some more things I cannot even think of right now...

SHE IS NOT FLOODING....If she was I could do the unflood and start her....
on these episodes I can crank off and on for 10 minutes..then later, usually when she cools she fires right up...no smoke, no rough idle...runs really great....

For the past couple of weeks ether would get her going but since the weather has got really hot, that don't get it every time....

I had on rx that had low compression but she would flood when cranking, really bad....

So guys, I beseech thee to consider the above question...there has to be someone somewhere that has the answer.....

Wayne was probably right when he said about a year ago that she is "Haunted"...

I agree that it could be vapor lock. I had vapor lock problems with another car once and it was a pain in hot summer weather.

Well....I solved the problem....and I really had my head up my *** this whole time....good thing is all the work I did on her ....lots of new/spare parts.....UIM work with all new vacuum....actually glad I did not check this first or I would not have did all the work, and I learned a lot.

It was the spark plugs. Geeeeez.

Heh.. who would have thought? I had to put in brand new plugs in my rebuild to get it to turn over, but other than that, i never would have recommended this..

I would have went with the whole "make sure you get the injectors cleaned and flow-tested" kinda direction.

Good on ya, though.

Well, I thought that I had replaced the plugs. What happened was I had put a set out my other 88 in there because she had a JACOBS ignition booster and you know they eat plugs...I got busy and forgot about replacing those in this one and its about then she started doing that. I did check all the filters.....a big ole SNAFU on my part...
