'88 RX-7 electrical wiring/ fuel

Please help me, i've had this car for about 3 years, and never really had any serious issues w/it, with the exception of spark/compression problems and having to change the plugs and oil and jump start it... the other day my car started randomly dieing, kinda like it does right at 3800 RPM's but this time it was happening at any RPM... after it died, i would be lucky if i could get it going again and then it would run maybe 2% better if i left it in first and kept it revved up to about 3k... needless to say, it finally stopped working completely, luckily when i was trying to leave my house after changing the oil and cleaning the plugs... it made it about 50yds and i had to let it roll backwards back into the driveway, and there it has been sitting since last saturday 11/4/06... we changed the fuel filter, and then when we went to check the fuel pump , we found that it doesn't get any signal at all... my next deducting thought was that the signal was stoping at the relays, but i have no clue where that is... also to be noted is about 1/2 a tank of gas ago, i filled up at not such a reputable place, but only did so since i was on E... since then we filled the tank the rest of the way up with 93 grade fuel, and put fuel treatment in it... it's a 88 RX-7 convertable, 13B... any help is greatly appreciated as i'm bumming rides to work and really got to get this thing going again... thanks

Fuel pump only works if the key is HELD to START. Or the engine is running.

Key words: HELD to START

Not ON but START.

The very first page of this forum should have these words on it and nothing else. The second page can have anything you want on it.

This is getting OLD. Real OLD. Then again, everyone has to start somewhere. The first page of the FUEL section of the FSM would be a good starter page. humor

when i tested the pump, i tested with the key in the "on" position, and also tested while turning the engine over in an attempt to start it... it is of my understanding that when i turn the key "on" i should get a 12v signal for 3 seconds, and then when the engine is trying to start i should get a constant 12v signal... well, i'm not getting any electrical signals at all coming through the wire to the fuel pump that is located in my trunk...
